If you are a newbie affiliate marketer or just trying your hand out to see if you can really make some money out of the internet, there is a good resource whereby you can learn, absorb, trial-and-error, make friends, and finally make your first $10 (can be more, which I believe you definitely can!) with Ed Dale’s Thirty Day Challenge.

I have listed all the day-by-day training link at the bottom of this post, so if you are ready and keen, you can just scroll all the way down to start the training. Else, you can read on to understand a bit more of what Ed Dale’s Thirty Day Challenge is all about.

Take Part In Ed Dale's 30 Day Challenge! It's Free!

I first got to know about this challenge back in the late 2007 and took part in some of the trainings. I am a bad, bad student though as I only took a small part of the training seriously. But… I did make more than the $10, in some affiliate sales using some of the techniques being shared by Ed Dale.

This training course, I can say, is that it’s ahead of the marketing trend. What this means is that, Ed Dale and his gang are able to pick out the soon-to-be-popular online resources, bring it to good use and when the online community starts picking up, you are already way ahead.

For example, back in 2007, he introduced Twitter to us all and back then, nobody take Twitter seriously, the community there is small, everybody is just micro-blogging their daily stuff and the big-guns are not even awared of it. Now in 2008, you can see John Chow and Shoemoney twittering away everyday.

Now in 2008, Ed Dale is fulling utilizing Twitter and also introducing a whole new resource: Market Samurai created by the Noble Samurai team.

The training provided is fully provided with all the videos and transcripts so they are easy on newbie affiliate marketers. You can download them, digest them slowly and bring it to good use.

Meet The “Person” Of My Life In Daily Marketing

If you are thinking that I will be mentioning some internet marketers as my mentor or my soul mate who has accompanied me in creating a small living out of my online journey - there will be none being mentioned. :P

But if you are keen to know who this “Person” is… Oh yar… it’s not Mr. Cake as well… okay… Drum roll please… are you ready? This “Person” is none other than the big daddy of search engine and many forms - Google.

A Small History

When I first got into the internet marketing scene back in 2002, all I can depend on is Yahoo! and the services being provided - the most widely used being the My Yahoo! Page. Nothing really fanciful about the services as I can only tap onto the weather forecast (nothing to do with online or affiliate marketing) or stock prices (I am not dealing with any of these yet), color themes (my online life seems a bit brighter) and email updates (one and only one being useful to me at that time).

Google Came And Made A Big Bang!

Make More Money Using The 7 Deadly Sins

There are two pointers you need to know as an Affiliate Marketer:

  1. The Internet - A place whereby you and I go for information to get a proper solution to our problems. You make use of your expertise and passion to tap on the internet to promote products/services you deem well enough to solve your customers’ problems.
  2. Making A Purchase - There are many competitions or rather similar products out there vying for your customers’ wallet. You and your neighbor could be selling the same product to the next customer but who can get the deal will depend on how you work on the customer through his brain and his heart - the finally his wallet.

What Best Way To Do So Is To Tap On The Seven Deadly Sins That Exist In Every Customer…

Do you know what are the seven deadly sins?

  1. Envy – Your next customer will feel left out when they know others have already gotten your product and are truely enjoying the benefits as a result. Make him feel better that it’s never too late to get in with your product and enjoy the same benefits as many others.
  2. Pride – In order to make your customer believe you in your product, you have to flatter him. Tell him how important he is on making the right choice for the right product for his problem and suggest that someone with his similar talent will definitely make the right decision to be going ahead with your product.
  3. Anger – This world is no longer a happy place. People are easily short-fused by others and so are your customers. Show them the way out to happiness with your products and you are a winner from here. If you understand your main competitors well and know about some of the unhappiness they are causing to your “soon-to-be” customer, you can easily tap on this loophole to get more sales.
  4. Greed – This is the most common sin that you and I have, can safely say from the start of time when humans can think properly. You and I want more of what we already have.  See what other affiliate marketers are doing with their affiliate products - they are giving away bonuses (which many can be gotten for free elsewhere) for any purchases! Guess what, it’s working well! So, promise your customers more and you’ll get the deal.
  5. Gluttony – This may seem tough to implement unless you are selling items related to food or fit for consumption. But if we do delve in a bit more, by consuming food and more of it - you get the feeling of good(or bad) taste, the sensation or even comfort and memory. You can always tap on this - building an image into the minds of your customers with them using your product. Let them have the feeling or thrill or whatever you can think of from the product.
  6. Sloth – Being Lazy. Same as Greed. This is like an in-built feeling that many people have. Are you guilty of it? Hoping to get an easy and lazy way out to making more money online? Customers are looking for ways to save them efforts, time, money and even work. Give them this solution with your products and you will be smiling.
  7. Lust – If you are a lady marketer, you can easily get an easy time tapping on this. I know of a lady marketer, who is very pretty and types her daily posts evolving around sexuality (not that extreme but you can sense it), and earns well promoting her affiliate products. That’s the power of lust. For Marketers who are male, though a bit hard to appeal (unless you are thinking of posing with your yellow underwear and your products), you can always tap on the other six deadly sins to your advantage.

There you go. Seven deadly sins of man for you to use to market your products. Use it with lots of cautions!

But remember this, when you are using these factors in your marketing efforts - do not tell your customers straight upfront that they are a Sloth, a Greed or Lustful. You will see them getting pissed off.

Instead know how to work on giving them good enough reasons to assure them that their purchase with you is the most sensible thing they have done.

Are You Still Waiting To Become An Online Marketer?

I was watching an episode of the “Tyra Bank Show” this morning, whereby one of her guests was actually sharing how precious time is - Once time is lost, it’s lost… have you make good use of it?

This makes very good sense to me and I was able to feel the impact of time when I had a talk with my friend over the “possibility of making money online”

A short description of my friend, let’s call him Mr. E, - male, happy with working for someone, very interested in soccer and spend most of his time reading and looking at soccer sites that offer good tips for him to bet on the matches. He is also constantly sharing soccer betting pointers to other friends through word of mouth.

Then he saw me going through my daily ritual of looking through all the MMO and Affiliate Marketing blogs in my Google Reader and decides to pop by my side and this are our conversation:

  • Mr. E: Is it really possible to make money online? Sounds like a scam to me…
  • Me: Why not? Though I am doing this part time, I am already seeing a small income coming in though not enough to support my lifestyle. How about this, I show you who are the successful ones - *showed sites of John Chow’s and Alvin Phang’s earnings*
  • Mr. E: Wow! Seems real to me! But how do they make money from? Can I be the same as you all?
  • Me: Of course, can! Do what you are good with and share information. You just need to know that people are always looking for information on a particular subject like, your soccer? Then you can make some money by displaying Ads, or selling affiliate products. You can even do it like a hobby!
  • Me: It may seem complicated at first, but the key point here is, get started soon if you are interested and you’ll get the hang out of it.
  • Mr. E: Interesting… making money from internet… but seems like a lot to be done, so… when I am really free, then I may consider… but this is really a good idea of making money. Thanks! *walks away and was seen talking to others on his wisdom of soccer betting*

There you see. My friend, a potential online money maker, decides to wait for the right time and right moment before he uses like hobby to help him make some money online.

With so many people going online everyday and creating new sites, you will never know that by the time you are ready with your stuff, there are already some sites which are more vibrant and offer better information. Because of the waiting, you lose out to better opportunities.

My Advice:

If you believe that you can make money online and you do have a certain hobby (do not need to be 100% committed) that you can share some of your wisdom on, get started (do it small) today and do not wait to become an online marketer. Once you get started, improve on your skills bit by bit everyday. That’s how you learn and become better.

If you do need a quick guide to get started online, use the below as a reference:

  • Sign up an account with Blogger and think of a general site name related to your hobby, preferably containing words that you may use while doing a search
  • Start blogging frequently to slowly expose your site to the search engines
  • What to blog? Use the basic - Who, What, When, Why and How, to help you along
  • Once you get a hang out of it, start exposing yourself to money making tools like affiliate products or Google Adsense and learn how they will work for you.
  • You may also consider upgrading to a self-hosted wordpress blog for more functions and to present yourself professionally.
  • From here, learn from the other successful online marketers and constantly improve.

Are You Ready To Outsource Your Business For Real Freedom?

Are You Ready To Outsource Your Online Business?

Are You A Slave To Your Online Business?

I have just finished reading Timothy Ferriss’s The 4-Hour Workweek and it’s really a good read. This book has also been highly recommended by John Chow in his previous post (quite some time back).

This book really opened me up in the sense that if you are really keen in being your own boss, you do not have to feel more trapped like many other “bosses” out there, and to really enjoy real freedom of having all the time to yourself, have many vacations, do whatever you wish and yet do not have to worry about the lack of money - this can be a reality!

One of the tips being shared in The 4-Hour Workweek of breaking free is that to outsource your business out to professionals like:

  • If you are running a Retail Business, you can actually have a distribution center to take care of orders, process credit cards, take care of inventory, and delivery for just a fraction of your profit.
  • If you are into full-time blogging, you can hire ghost writers to write articles or create your info-products for you, by sharing the profits or a fee.

And since most of my readers, that includes you, are into online business and are interested to earn money out of your online marketing efforts, we try to focus a bit more of “how and what to outsource” for your online business in this post.

As I was researching for some information to be provided here, I came across some useful tips on what I needed to finish this post, as provided by none other than Jimmy D. Brown.

These are some useful tips that Jimmy D. Brown and Nicole Dean shared…

First and foremost, start by taking a good look at your online business and get your goals and priorities straight and you do not have to worry as it’s not nearly as complicated as it sounds.

What you can do for now is to grab a pen and a piece of paper or open your favorite word processor and divide your page into four columns and you’re ready to brainstorm.

On that piece of paper or word document - write everything down as it comes to your mind. Don’t think too much or crack your mind wide open on this. Just start writing whatever that comes to your mind.

Next, figure out what is working. Whatever it is.

It may be one of your websites, your ecourses, a joint venture, a certain marketing method.

Where is the bulk of your profit coming from, currently? (If there is none as yet, where do you believe will be the place where the largest profits will come from - you do not have to be really precised). Write those items in column #1 under: “Do More”.

Thirdly, figure out what is not bringing in money. Is it hanging out on forums or posting classified ads to freebie sites? Is it endlessly checking your stats, or email?  What are your daily time-suckers? Write those under column #2: “Do less”.

Then, figure out what could work better. Do you have upsells in place? Are your websites designed to bring you cash from every visitor? Make your list of ideas in column #3: “Improvements”. (If you don’t know yet, don’t worry. There are plenty of ways to improve your business as you learn and grow.)

Fifth, figure out what can be automated. Which tasks are repetitive and boring, albeit necessary? Many of those types of tasks can be automated with simple tools. For instance, if you’re submitting articles to directories by hand, there are tools and services to do that for you. Add these to column #4: “Automation”.

Now that you’re armed with your list, it’s time to get to work on your outsourcing.

Look at your list in Column #1: “Do More”. Those are the tasks that you should focus your energies on. It’s a good idea to tackle one or two of the tasks on that list first thing in the morning – every morning. It’s much more productive than checking out your favorite blogs or logging into twitter. And you’ll be amazed at how much you can get done quickly when your mind is fresh.

Look at your list in Column #2: “Do Less”. These activities should be forbidden until after you have gotten your #1 list done, if you do them at all. For instance, hanging out on Twitter is fun, but do not do it until everything in column #1 is finished for the day.

Now, go back to Column #1, 3, and 4 which are your “Do More”, “Improvements”, and “Automation” lists.

Look at all of the items that are on those three lists. Now, circle each task that you…

  • Can’t Do On Your Own
  • Don’t Have Time to On Do Your Own
  • Don’t Want To Do On Your Own

Those are the tasks that you’ll need to or ought to start outsourcing.

I hope with the above tips as shared by Jimmy D. Brown and Nicole Dean, you can now start to prepare a list of tasks to be outsources and set your business on automation and achieve real freedom. Real Freedom means a lot of things and it means freedom to do the things that you want to do for your own and your family.

I have prepared a file for you to start recording. Just Right-Click and Choose “Save as…” on this link (.pdf file)
