If you are currently using Google Adsense to monetize your content on personal blogs and other site network like e.g. Google Knol, Hubpages, you may wish to start taking notice whether you are having “The Invalid Clicks” syndrome.
What’s The Invalid Clicks Syndrome?
This would mean that you are getting clicks on your Google Adsense Ads but not credited for it (not getting the money) and if you do a search for a solution out of this, you may just be getting some answers like Google treats the clicks as an artificial method of inflating an advertiser’s costs or a publisher’s earnings.

There’s few reasons why Google may treat your clicks as invalid, as I have personally came across,
- There’s a sudden big increase in Google Adsense Earnings when you did nothing in particular to boost traffic and click-through
- Your sites are embedded in some Traffic Exchanges which Google do not like at all
- You may have accidentally click on your Ads on a few occasions
For most people, getting this kind of syndrome, may be drastic as Google may just terminate your Google Adsense Account without any prior warning and thus you lose all of your earnings.
If you are indeed getting the invalid clicks syndrome but not because of the few reasons stated above, then there’s another way to check your Google Adsense account before you start getting panicky.
I came across this check after I have spoken to a few marketers who are experiencing this situation, and they highlighted this to me. And that is checking the “Allowed Section” under your Google Adsense Account and also whether Google is picking up traffic from other sources.
If you already know about this check, then this post may not help you much, so you may wish to contact the Adsense Support to give you better advice.
So Here’s How to Check…
1. Login to your Google Adsense Account
2. Go to “Adsense Setup” and then click on the “Allowed Sites”
3. Check for which options are being checked – Any Site or Certain Sites (<< this option is highly recommended to be kept checked so as to ensure that your Google Adsense Publisher ID is not misused)
4. Then you will need to scroll down the page below and you will actually get to see a list of sites that have your Google Adsense ID embedded. If you can verify these sites are valid, you are safe to add the allowed URLs in the boxes.
5. Once you are done, you will notice that you will start noticing that you are getting credits from those used-to-be Invalid Clicks.
6. And a good practice is to check at some time intervals and you may just get more sites to add into your Allowed URLs (just make sure that these sites are valid and you do have some form of your content in it)
