Meet The “Person” Of My Life In Daily Marketing
If you are thinking that I will be mentioning some internet marketers as my mentor or my soul mate who has accompanied me in creating a small living out of my online journey – there will be none being mentioned. 
But if you are keen to know who this “Person” is… Oh yar… it’s not Mr. Cake as well… okay… Drum roll please… are you ready? This “Person” is none other than the big daddy of search engine and many forms – Google.
A Small History
When I first got into the internet marketing scene back in 2002, all I can depend on is Yahoo! and the services being provided – the most widely used being the My Yahoo! Page. Nothing really fanciful about the services as I can only tap onto the weather forecast (nothing to do with online or affiliate marketing) or stock prices (I am not dealing with any of these yet), color themes (my online life seems a bit brighter) and email updates (one and only one being useful to me at that time).
Google Came And Made A Big Bang!
Back in around 2005 or 2006, Google created a deep impact in my online marketing life. Till date, they have created useful and common tools for you and me like:
- A Better Search Engine Environment: This is like a report book for online marketers. If you do your design, programming, copywriting and good contents well, you are given a good ranking on the search page.
- A Chance to Start Making Money: Google Adsense is my personal favorite after ClickBank. The technology is considered one of the best and very smart – imagine relevant ads on your website and you get rewarded when your visitors click on them. When you did not get any sales over your products and services, you can still depend on Google Adsense to help you make money.
- Get Updated On Your Topic of Interest: Google Alert is also another good tool that can actually help you to get updates as and when there are newly updated topic that’s based on your interest. For example, my interest is in affiliate marketing, so when there’s new sites (or competitors or new information), I will get the updates through to my email.
- Jot Down Easily Even If You Do Not Have A Pen: Google Notebook is also one of my widely used tool that can help you in your daily marketing. I use Google Notebook to save all my download pages of my purchased items for easy access anywhere.
- Work On Your Own Info-Product Anywhere: Google Documents is also a good tool that you can use to work on your info-product easily and from any computers with internet connection. You do not have to worry that you have forgotten to bring along your thumbdrive or send to your email.
My Personal Favorites For The Late 2008:
- Become An Expert In Your Field: Google has just set up Google Knol – an article directory whereby you can submit your original articles, get reviewed and recognised. You can also include in Google Adsense to all your articles. So you get paid and and get recognised. How good is that!
- Analyze On Your Visitors Data: Google Analytics helps you to analyse your visitors data like the keywords being used, the most visited pages. the duration of their visits and your common referrers in a clear and graphical manner.
- Get Updated And Educated On The Latest Happenings In The Online Marketing Scene: With Google Reader, you can easily do so. You can easily add in all your favorite RSS feeds into your Google Reader, access it anywhere or even add in more similar RSS feeds based on Google’s understanding of you! You can also include Google Adsense into your RSS feeds and get paid!
- View This and That From A Single Source: iGoogle is similar to My Yahoo! Page but the differences which I like is that the page is refreshed automatically when there’s an update. Therefore I get all the latest information on the dot, from my email inbox and RSS feeds.
