Page 35 – (Chapter 2) Adsense – Making The Money
Still targeting at the Beginners, you will learn how to join and sign up to get your Google Adsense code. You will also need to understand the Google’s Policies behind Google Adsense. Get a short glimpse at the “Do’s” and “Don’ts”.
On Page 40 onwards, you will be introduced to the different ad formats that come in the form of Text Ads, Link Ads and Display Ads like Video Ads & Flash Ads and a bit of give-away – which are the best and where you should place each of these formats to get the maximum results.
A good hint is that you should never directly go for a 468×60 Ad Block because many people’s eyes are already used to this ad format and will instantly know that you have an advertisement on your site.

Page 65 – (Chapter 3) How To Tweak Your Ads To Make Them Click! – The Principles Of Optimization
You will learn the formatting rules and techniques that Joel Comm has used to sky-rocketed the CTRs on his top-grossing pages.

Page 76 – (Chapter 4) Catch Fickle Visitors With The Google Search Box
You will learn more about Google’s new Custom Search Engine. One good optimization tip for your Custom Search Engine is to choose the option for “only sites I select” and you need to have at least a certain number of sites (answer is at page 78) before your search engine can deliver helpful results.
Another interesting feature to note that Google Custom Search Engine allows you to attach a promotion to an autocompleted search which means you have an additional chance to promote an affiliate link to your visitors when they do a search!

Page 88 – (Chapter 5) The Principles Of Ad Placement: The Best Places To Put Your Ads
In this chapter you will learn how to choose the best locations for your ad units so that they’re seen by your readers and clicked by people interested in their content.
For example, Leaderboards should go at the top pf page; Squares and Rectangles should be embedded into the text itself. You will get to read the rest of the placements in the rest of the chapter.
One good tip that I can share with you from this chapter is that – the very first Adsense link that you see on your web page is the most valuable link on that page!
On page 98, Joel Comm offers a few templates that’s best for Articles, Blogs and Merchant Sites. It’s not guaranteed that you will get the similar results as Joel Comm so you have to test them out and see what works best!

Page 104 – (Chapter 6) Influencing Your Ads
In this chapter, you will learn how to influence the types of Ads that Google serves on your web pages. And a few tips that you will get to learn are like:
- Keeping The Title, Directory And Headlines Relevant
- The Right Number Of Keywords On Your Page – The Keyword Density
- The Right Keyword Placement – Where To Place Your Keywords To Get The Right Ads
On Page 118, you will get an introduction to what Placement Targeting is all about – which some of the adsense ads have appeared as a result of this.
