Firstly This Is How The Socrates Theme Look On My Blog Before Any Configuration
And this is the small configuration panel to let you get started with the Socrates Theme:
The first tab “Socrates” will give you the overall view of what you can do with your Socrates Theme. Therefore if you do not need that kind of information, you can just proceed to the second tab – “Layout”.

The Layout Options
This is the page that you can do many magics and also the page that can get you way excited because of the many options for you to start monetize your blog. And here’s a rundown of what you can expect:
This particular section allows you to choose how you want to present your blog. I would suggest for you to stick to the first option because you can easily input a 300×250 advertisements and run the WP 125×125 ads to help you monetize your blog.
The next two sections will require you to input your site title, site description and site keywords. This is a common form of SEO to help the search engines pick up on your site.
Next will be for you to input your clickbank ID – making your personal Socrates Theme sell for you. And you will be able to input your tracking code to start tracking the traffic, keywords and visitors information to your site.

This option is asking if you like to show your name or your guest bloggers details. I would say just go ahead to showcase your name as the expert to your content.
Another good monetization features of the Socrates Theme. Here you will be able to input some of your advertising codes to be displayed in your post contents. And you will be able to decide how many times the ads will appear. This option is important especially if you have a lot of the same visitors coming to your site. You do not wish to disrupt their visits with too many advertisements.
My personal hint is that Leaderboard Ads works. I have used it on my other sides and apparently the click-through is higher than those Ad formats. Also goes to show Joel Comm knows his Adsense Stuff. And the Socrates Theme has a unique feature – allowing you to rotate up to 3 different Ads!
The last section of the Layout Options is for you to display your Social Network Profiles like Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, RSS feed and Facebook. You will also be allowed to display up to 2 ClickBank Products that will help you to earn more commissions from Joel Comm’s range of products like the Secret Classroom and The Socrates Theme (yup, you are reading this correctly).
The last two allows you to input custom products of your own.

And you are able to configure whether you like to display
- the top navigation above the header
- the primary navigation below the header.
- the left footer
- the right footer
Both options allow you to display up to 8 of your links. Different ways to display your links all over your blog.

In this particular section, you get to play around with the Header Image/Text. You get to put in your Title Text and the Tagline of your blog.
And the particular section below the “Edit Header Tab” is interactive as well. You can configure the font types you want for your text, the alignment , the colors and the font size.
Next, you can choose whether to display any header image or just a simple color background. If you do not have any header image, choose from the various images from the gallery (this is included in the Socrates Theme)

The Background Tab
Another feature not commonly seen on most premium WordPress Themes is this background tab. As you can guess it correctly, this particular section allows you to display a background image for your blog.
Though not much use for most affiliate marketers, I see this very useful for marketers who have a photography or game blog. Use this feature to display the background image of the latest game releases or the photos you have taken recently.
The Banner Exchange Tab
The last section is a chance for you to run a 125×125 banners on a traffic banner exchange created by Joel Comm and these banners will be showcased among those Socrates Theme users.
If you do not have any personal ads of your blog, try running those affiliate ads because there are some well-known online marketers who are using this wordpress theme and you may just be able to tap on their traffic to earn some affiliate commissions.

And How Does A Banner Exchange Work?
Basically, if you have a banner, in this case, a 125×125 banner ad, you will run this banner on other people’s blogs who have this same feature turned on. Their banners will be showcased on your blog as well.
Because of your efforts to showcase your banners, you will get to earn credits and these credits will let your banner be displayed. The more credits you have, the more times your banner can be displayed on many others’ blogs.
This is a free method of getting traffic to your site.
So, if the Socrates Theme is the right Premium WordPress theme for your blog, it’s time to get started with it,
